A view on the use of the informative materials for the new Masterplan of Urban Development of Mexico Cit
Sanz Serif, a makeshift nickname earned as a result of my typographic likes, is the umbrella under which I present the diverse facets of my work: academic research on architecture and urbanism, design speculations, graphic design, curatorial and editorial work, and writings developed individually or collaborately, in institutional settings or independently.
Current focus: Workscapes.
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development of Mexico City commissioned Victor Muñoz Sanz / Sanz Serif to develop a series of graphics for the informative materials used during the public participation process previous to the approval of the new Masterplan of Urban Development.
The new document had to avoid the usual graphics and jargon used by governmental instances. A clear color coding plus a well-thought mapping system tried to make the plan as readable as possible, but keeping the accuracy needed in a legal document. The sum of urban actions to be carried out in the future were synthesized in icons to make them accesible and easy to understand.
